Administrative Process Mapping is the visual representation of the activities, decisions, information flows and responsibilities involved in delivering an office or service process. It helps a team understand how work actually moves across functions, from the initial request to the result expected by the customer.
The map makes delays, unnecessary approvals, rework, handoffs and duplicated information visible. It provides a shared basis for simplifying the process, clarifying responsibilities, improving information quality and designing a faster and more reliable future flow. Common applications include order management, purchasing, accounting, engineering and customer service.
This method is used in the training course: Lean Office and Services.
