An autonomous team is a team which has the means to solve, on its own, the problems encountered during its daily activity.
The team is autonomous if:
- The limits of the autonomy are set and the team is very well familiar with the limits of its own autonomy.
- It has the means to alert at its disposal and it has the power to request help and support in case of a problem which goes beyond the framework of its own autonomy.
- It knows when to ask for help.
- The company has implemented a process which makes it possible to respond to the needs of the autonomous team.
